In 2006, choreographer Andrea Miller founded Gallim Dance in New York City, and the company continues to operate from its home studio in Brooklyn. The Utah-born and Juilliard-trained Miller performed with Ohad Naharin’s Ensemble Batsheva before returning to the U.S. to launch Gallim. She has developed a recognizable style of extreme physicality and emotionality which has led to commissions and reconstructions of her work throughout the world. Most recently, Gallim presented a mashup of several repertory works in the form of a premiere entitled True, very. In Blush, Miller used the human trait of blushing as the inspiration to create a sixty-minute work that springs from this one sudden sensation.
