Born in Boston in 1953, Joyce Cuoco danced as a child with Boston Ballet and first appeared on national television at the age of twelve (on the Danny Kaye Show, choreographed by former Pillow student Tony Charmoli). As a “baby ballerina,” she made celebrated appearances at Radio City Music Hall and on TV’s Ed Sullivan Show. She made her Pillow debut in 1970 and later became a soloist with John Cranko’s Stuttgart Ballet. Youri Vamos is a Hungarian-born dancer and choreographer who made his U.S. debut at the Pillow, partnering Joyce Cuoco in 1977. Both Cuoco and Vamos continue to choreograph, coach, and teach in Europe.
