Tony Meredith and Melanie LaPatin won some of the world’s most prestigious ballroom dance titles during their competitive career which began in 1983 and continued until the year of this performance. LaPatin is a native New Yorker while Meredith grew up in Samoa. As a team, they captured more than a hundred championship titles and they have appeared on So You Think You Can Dance as well as creating dances for films such as The Thomas Crown Affair and Dance With Me. They continue to choreograph for film, television, Broadway, and a new generation of competitive dancers. This performance was part of a special 80th birthday tribute to Marge Champion.
