Te Ao Mano, established in 2016 by founder-directors Anthony Aiu and Kaina Quenga, is based in New York City. The company aims to expand the presence and representation of Polynesian culture and artistry worldwide through the creation of new work, specialized classes and workshops, and performances. Te Natura is a medley of contemporary Polynesian dances. The peoples of Moana Nui a Hiva (the Pacific Ocean) are profoundly connected to nature, the elements, and the environment. These dances are rooted in both history and culture, demonstrating how the people are connected to their ancestry and to each other. The movement-based storytelling is a testament to the dancers’ love for their homeland.
