As a dancer, choreographer, teacher, writer, editor, curator, and a self-described dance addict, Wendy Perron has played a number of important roles in the dance community since the 1970s. She performed with dozens of independent choreographers in New York City and was a member of the Trisha Brown Company from 1975 to 1978, continuing to perform in recent years with Vicky Shick, Stephanie Skura, and Yoshiko Chuma. She formed the Wendy Perron Dance Company in 1983, making her Pillow debut the following year. She has participated in a number of PillowTalks, and her choreography has been presented at the Pillow by PARADIGM as well as by her own company. At the time of the performance seen here (part of a shared program with Timothy Buckley, Lisa Nelson, and Dennis O’Connor), Perron was serving as Associate Director of Jacob’s Pillow.
