Based in New York City, Jessica Lang Dance made its official company debut at Jacob’s Pillow in 2012, presenting the world premiere of Lines Cubed, and returned the next two years with more premieres, Within the Space I Hold, and the full-evening The Wanderer. Jessica Lang has choreographed for ballet companies across the U.S. and abroad since 1999, creating nearly a hundred works so far (including Her Door to the Sky for Pacific Northwest Ballet). She is also well-regarded as a teacher, serving as a longtime faculty member of ABT’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School. Lang toured widely as a member of Twyla Tharp’s company known as THARP!, appearing with them at Jacob’s Pillow in 1998. A graduate of The Juilliard School, Lang’s mentors there included two influential Pillow faculty members, Benjamin Harkarvy and Bessie Schönberg.
