AteNine was founded in 2012 by Danielle Agami, fueled by her vision to transform dance and engage new audiences with innovative work. Initially based in Seattle, the company relocated to Los Angeles the following year and quickly became a core member of the contemporary dance renaissance there. The Israeli-born Agami is deeply rooted in the dance scene of her native country, with a total of eight years of involvement with the Batsheva Dance Company as both a dancer and rehearsal director. AteNine first traveled to Jacob’s Pillow to appear on the Inside/Out series in 2016, leading to an immediate return engagement. The work seen here is a remix of the full-evening Calling Glenn, which featured Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche playing live onstage. Because of a dancer’s injury, Agami herself stepped into these performances and is seen in the opening duet.
