Longtime collaborators Mark Dendy and Stephen Donovan formed dendy/donovan projects in 2008 with the goal of creating a dance-theater multi-media company valuing all forms of design and collaboration with a sincere and political sensibility. They first worked together on the Broadway musical Taboo, with Dendy as choreographer and Donovan as Assistant Director. Dendy’s work debuted at the Pillow in 1988 as part of a festival-within-a festival known as Splash. The idea for Elvis Everywhere originated with a recording of Donald Rumsfeld describing his encounter with Elvis Presley in Las Vegas. Partially created during a Jacob’s Pillow residency, the work scrutinizes society’s fascination and obsession with celebrity.
