Eun-Me Ahn practiced traditional dance in her native Korea before training as a contemporary dancer in Seoul and creating her first work in 1988. After spending the 1990s making dances in New York City, she returned to Korea to direct the Daegu City Dance Company for several years. As a freelancer in more recent decades, she recruited a pan-Asian cast of dancers who were all born in 2000, the Year of the Dragon in the Korean zodiak, to create Dragons, seen here in its U.S. premiere.
