Coming Attractions
The 2026 season at Jacob’s Pillow encompasses a number of returning companies in addition to some notable Pillow debuts. Highlighted in this playlist are artists from all three stages, representing not only the 10-week summer season but also the Pillow’s first-ever spring engagements.

Touch of RED, 2025
Only a brief section of this Pillow-commissioned work by Shamel Pitts was seen as part of the opening program in the new Doris Duke Theatre, so his engagement in the Duke (June 24–28) has been long anticipated.

Xin Ying
Lamentation: Dancing the Archive, 2025
Martha Graham’s Lamentation was centered in this 2025 exhibition created by the Graham Company’s Xin Ying (with Alan Winslow, Kate Ladenheim, and Katherine Helen Fisher), and longtime Graham dancer Lloyd Knight can also be seen interacting with Ying’s installation in this clip. The Martha Graham Dance Company will be celebrating its centennial August 12–16 in the Ted Shawn Theatre.

For one night only (on July 2), Compañía Nélida Tirado Flamenco will enliven the outdoor Henry J. Leir Stage. The performance seen here was part of 2022’s America(na) to Me program, examining U.S. traditions from various vantage points.

Unsung Sheroes of the 20th Century, 2022
Leading off this excerpt from Dormeshia’s Unsung Sheroes of the 20th Century is the incomparable singer and tap dancer Brinae Ali in a salute to one of her inspirations. Ali returned to perform on the Leir Stage the following year and then participated in a Pillow Lab residency in 2024, all of which has led to an upcoming August 12–16 engagement in the Doris Duke Theatre.

Brian Brooks Moving Company
Flight Study, 2021
From his Pillow debut more than 20 years ago to his collaborations with Wendy Whelan and the world premiere seen in this clip, Brian Brooks has been a steady Pillow presence. He brings yet another world premiere to the Doris Duke Theatre July 29–August 2.

Walking With 'Trane, 2019
Here in their most recent Pillow appearance saluting John Coltrane, Urban Bush Women have performed at the Pillow many times since their debut nearly 40 years ago. For their performances July 1–5 in the Ted Shawn Theatre, they will present a dance-driven musical entitled SCAT! with a live jazz band.

What Will Have Been, 2019
Seen here during their most recent Pillow appearance, the Australian performers known as Circa Contemporary Circus will again perform in the Ted Shawn Theatre July 22–26.

Faye Driscoll
Thank You For Coming: Play, 2018
In the same year she received the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award, Faye Driscoll presented this installment in a series of works that examined the relationship between audiences and performers. The first work in this trilogy, Thank You For Coming: Attendance, was seen the previous year. From July 15–19, Driscoll will present her highly-acclaimed Weathering in the new Doris Duke Theatre.

Ephrat Asherie Dance
Odeon, 2018
Ever since her first appearance on the Leir Stage in 2013, Ephrat Asherie has been a frequent Pillow performer. Her company returned the following year with Step 4.2 and premiered the work seen in this clip after developing it in a Pillow Lab residency. Her company will present a full-evening work in the Duke from August 5–9.

Línea Recta, 2017
Annabelle Lopez Ochoa’s Línea Recta was originally commissioned by the Pillow and performed here in 2017. For the first time since then, Línea Recta returns to the Ted Shawn Theatre August 19–23 along with more works from the repertory of Ballet Hispánico New York.

Malasangre, 2015
This dance by Barcelona-based choreographer Cayetano Soto was featured in Gauthier Dance’s debut program more than a decade ago. The company has returned twice since, and will bring an entirely new program to the Ted Shawn Theatre July 29–August 2.

Hula ʻAuana, 2012
Founded in Honolulu by Victoria Holt Takamine in 1977, Pua Aliʻi ʻIlima is a school of traditional Hawaiian dance whose one previous Pillow appearance is seen here. They return to the outdoor Leir Stage on July 10.

The central duet of this classic work by Paul Taylor showcases one of the choreographer’s finest later dances, with more Taylor repertory to be presented when the company opens the upcoming season June 24–28.

Apollon musagète (Apollo), 1956
The San Francisco Ballet’s East Coast debut at the Pillow in 1956 featured works by its director, Lew Christensen, as well as Balanchine staples like this Apollo and Concerto Barocco, leading to widespread critical acclaim and international tours. Their long-awaited return August 5–9 will occupy both the Ted Shawn Theatre and the Leir Stage.
