Based in Madrid since its founding in 2006, Compañía Sharon Fridman has performed in more than 20 countries across the globe. The company is led by an Israeli man, born in 1980, who creates work rooted in Israeli folklore, contemporary dance, and classical ballet. He utilizes three fundamental pillars: the language of contact improvisation, the social dimension of dance, and breaking the fourth wall. In his quest to connect more directly with his audience, Fridman integrates approximately a dozen community members into each performance of Free fall.
