Under the direction of Tom Mossbrucker and Jean-Philippe Malaty, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet made its Pillow debut in 2003 and has since returned in five different seasons, most recently in 2016. The company’s eclectic repertory for these visits has included works by Twyla Tharp, William Forsythe, Itzik Galili, and Nicolo Fonte. Initially based solely in Aspen, Colorado, the company added a second home base in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2000. Stamping Ground is Jiří Kylián’s exploration of Aboriginal culture and dance, seeking the universal qualities that link age-old cultures with contemporary ballet.
