Founded by Tina Ramirez in 1970, the New York-based Ballet Hispánico explores, preserves, and expands the passion and theatricality of Latino dance through the work of its company, school, and arts education programs. Under the direction of former company member and Luna Negra founder Eduardo Vilaro since 2009 (when the company presented Tito on Timbales here), Ballet Hispánico continues its mission to present a diverse repertory by renowned choreographers from around the world. The work seen in this clip, Annabella Lopez Ochoa’s Línea Recta, was co-commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow.
