Founded in 2000 by choreographer Soon-ho Park, Bereishit Dance Company is a Seoul-based group that approaches Korean traditional culture from a contemporary viewpoint. Delving into multimedia, street dance, and community concerns, the work explores issues of identity and transformation. Soon-ho Park studied contemporary dance in Korea before performing throughout the 1990s in the Netherlands, Germany, and other European countries. In BOW, two male dancers recreate the act of making and firing a bow, turning these actions into a meditative confrontation.
