Based in Groningen, The Netherlands, Club Guy & Roni is a collaborating force that brings together dancers and other artists from around the world to create a melting pot of ideas. The Club’s directors, Guy Weizman and Roni Haver, have danced with Tel Aviv’s Batsheva Ensemble, Berlin’s Tolada Dance Company, and Barcelona’s Lanonima Imperial, among other European groups. The work seen here concerns itself with sisterhood and female expression in dance. The gestural vocabulary used in The Language of Walls has been described as “savage” and “acrobatic.”
