This Brooklyn-based ensemble was founded in 1996 in order to study and accurately represent Georgian folk traditions. Organized by Victor Sirelson, formerly with the Aman Folk Ensemble of Los Angeles, the company features the best of Georgian immigrant performers, showcasing the demanding and refined regional technique. One of the most distinctive aspects of this technique is the traditional tseruli, or men dancing on their toes.
