In 2006, choreographer Andrea Miller founded Gallim Dance in New York City, and the company continues to operate from its home studio in Brooklyn. The Utah-born and Juilliard-trained Miller performed with Ohad Naharin’s Ensemble Batsheva before returning to the U.S. to launch Gallim. She has developed a recognizable style of extreme physicality and emotionality which has led to commissions and reconstructions of her work throughout the world. In Blush, Miller used the human trait of blushing as the inspiration to create a sixty-minute work, while the excerpts seen here were part of a world premiere fashioned from eight different dances.
