Founded in 1998, Hālau I Ka Wēkiu is a Hula school located in Pauoa, Oʻahu. The school is based upon a traditional Hula genealogy going back eight generations to the island of Kauaʻi. The Kumu Hula (Hula Masters and Artistic Directors) Karl Veto Baker and Michael Casupang are also composers of Hawaiian music. The company has traveled to New Zealand and Japan, and this Pillow performance was part of a 10th anniversary celebration.
