Born and raised in Croatia, Irma Omerzo started her career there in 1988 with the ZPA Company. At age 20 the following year, she emigrated to France in order to pursue her passion for contemporary dance, performing with Andy Degroat and Philippe Decouflé. After returning to Zagreb in the early 2000s, she founded her company and continued working on multimedia and performing arts projects. Omerzo’s Mi-Nous was inspired by the separation from her boyfriend when she moved to France and its title represents a bilingual wordplay, as the word for “we” in Croatia is “mi” and “nous” in France, while “minou” is a Croatian term of endearment.
