Dedicated to the great American traditions of tap dancing and jazz music, Jazz Tap Ensemble was founded by Lynn Dally in 1979, made its Pillow debut in 1983, and returned in 1993. Recognized for their excellence as performers and master teachers, JTE always looked to its elders for inspiration, working with well-known tap masters including Jimmy Slyde, Harold Nicholas, LaVaughn Robinson, Savion Glover, and Gregory Hines. Sam Weber first performed with the company in 1986, and enjoyed an earlier career as a ballet dancer with Joffrey II, San Francisco Ballet, and Smuin Ballets.
