Known most widely as a longtime judge and contributing choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance, Mia Michaels founded her company in 1997. She has described her group as “a contemporary dance company that combines jazz, modern, ballet, and street dancing, resulting in a style that is definitely 90s with a strong sense of classicism.” Michaels has choreographed for films, on Broadway, and for Cirque du Soleil, and she has also created works for Madonna, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan, and Prince. Before all that, Michaels was a student in The School at Jacob’s Pillow in 1990.
