Red Sky Performance is Canada’s leading contemporary Indigenous company, based in Toronto. Founded by Sandra Laronde in 2000, the company takes its name from the first two words of Laronde’s Ojibway (Anishnaabe) spirit name. Its mission is to create and elevate the ecology of contemporary performance, informed by Indigenous worldview and culture. Choreographer Jera Wolfe is an associate artist with the company, and is himself of Métis heritage. Trace was influenced by Anishinaabe sky and star stories, offering a glimpse into our origins as well as our future evolution.
