Conceived by Chet Walker and Robert LaFosse, The Seven Deadly Sins was a full-evening work commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow with each sin choreographed by a different artist and set to the music of their choice. In addition to the segment seen here, the sins and their respective choreographers were Sloth (David Dorfman), Anger (Chet Walker), Lust (Richard Move), Envy (Jamie Bishton), Greed (Annie-B Parson), and Pride (Robert La Fosse). In Gluttony, Lawrence Goldhuber donned a fat suit and enjoyed an onstage picnic before falling asleep and dreaming of his beloved foods (drumsticks, a hot dog, and Hershey’s kisses) coming back to haunt him.
