Seen here in its world premiere, Antidote was performed to celebrate Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s acceptance of the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Award in 2022. Cherkaoui is a versatile and visionary artist who has excelled in multiple genres. He was appointed Director of Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève in 2022 following seven years leading the Royal Ballet of Flanders, during which time he also led his own contemporary company, Eastman, which presented Fractus V at the Pillow in 2018. His works have also been performed at the Pillow by Aakash Odedra and Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet. Among his more celebrated commissions was a music video for Beyoncé and Jay-Z in 2018, and he choreographed Jagged Little Pill on Broadway in 2019.
