The career of New York-based choreographer Sonya Tayeh has been a whirlwind in the decade leading up to her Jacob’s Pillow debut. With roots in the club scene of her native Detroit, she burst into national prominence through her work on So You Think You Can Dance starting in 2008. Her commercial success has led to more conventional concert dance assignments, including commissions from the Martha Graham Dance Company and the Joyce Theater, as well as extensive work with theater companies such as New York Theatre Workshop and Theatre for a New Audience.
