As a Principal Dancer with New York City Ballet since 2016, Taylor Stanley has worked with a variety of choreographers, achieving a breakout success (and winning a Bessie Award for Outstanding Performance) with Kyle Abraham’s The Runaway in 2019. Jacob’s Pillow commissioned this full-evening program to support Stanley’s desire to explore movement interests outside of the classical realm, sponsoring three separate Pillow Lab residencies to help build the repertory. This world premiere by Jodi Melnick was one of two group works on the program, which included a revival of Talley Beatty’s Mourner’s Bench.
