Created for the New York City Ballet, After the Rain is a ballet in two parts, the first an ensemble for six dancers and this second part for one central couple—here danced by Boston native Sarah Lamb and Norwegian Lucas Brændsrød. Under the directorship of Kevin O’Hare since 2012, The Royal Ballet unites tradition and innovation in world-class performances at London’s Royal Opera House in Covent Garden. The company’s extensive repertory embraces 19th-century classics, the singular legacy of works by Founder Choreographer Frederick Ashton and Principal Choreographer Kenneth MacMillan, and a new canon of ballets by Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor and Artistic Associate Christopher Wheeldon.
