The oldest resident Native American dance company in New York, Thunderbird American Indian Dancers was founded in 1963 by descendants of the Mohawk, Hopi, Winnebago, and San Blas tribes. With a mission to keep alive the traditions, songs, and dances learned from their parents, the troupe has toured the U.S., expanding and sharing their repertory.
