Okwui Okpokwasili is a Brooklyn-based performance maker and a 2018 MacArthur Fellow, while Peter Born is a director, composer, and designer of performance and installation work. Their collaborations include two Bessie Award-winning productions: Pent-Up: a revenge dance and Bronx Gothic. The world premiere seen here was a site-specific presentation that unfolded at dusk on the banks of the Pillow’s fire pond. The sonic score, sung live by Okpokwasili, tells the story of a young girl with hair so powerful it allows her to receive and send messages through time.
