Now officially known as the Streb Extreme Action Company, this Brooklyn-based group was known as RINGSIDE at the time of their Pillow debut in 1997. Choreographer and Action Architect Elizabeth Streb creates work by intertwining the disciplines of dance, athletics, boxing, rodeo, the circus, and Hollywood stunt-work. The result is a bristling, muscle-and-motion vocabulary that combines daring with strict precision in pursuit of public acts of pure movement. In her first Pillow appearance, Streb presented a signature solo called Little Ease, and she has participated in PillowTalks and film presentations in the years since. Tip was commissioned for the Lincoln Center Festival, and has been described as “An action packed, adult-strength, prototypic teeter-totter for the stout of heart.”
