Part of a full-evening work with live music known as Romper el Piso (which translates as “Break the Floor”), this scene pays homage to the artists and composers of the Golden Age of Tango, the 1940s and 50s. This section in particular explores the different forms of tango and the intimate interaction between a man and a woman. The Buenos Aires-based Tangueros del Sur is directed by Natalia Hills, who is best known in the U.S. for the Broadway hit Forever Tango. During her decade-long association with Forever Tango, she performed in major cities throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.
