Developed by three former Alvin Ailey dancers, the company known as RhythMEK brought a program called “Lightbody” to the Doris Duke Theatre in 2000. Michael Thomas, Elizabeth Roxas, and Karine Plantadit-Bageot chose seven pieces from various choreographers, each of which related to a different type of relationship. The dance excerpted here was created by Ulysses Dove, a choreographer whose work has also been performed at the Pillow by Stockholm 59° North and Pacific Northwest Ballet.
