Ann Reinking was a major muse to Bob Fosse in the 1970s, and she’s seen here in a nod to the Fosse tradition. Her relationship to Jacob’s Pillow began when she taught for the Jazz Project in 1983, continuing through numerous teaching engagements and membership on the Board of Directors into the early 1990s. Gary Chryst performed alongside Reinking in the Broadway company of Fosse’s Dancin’, but he and Reinking had met years before when he was a member of the Joffrey Ballet and she was an apprentice. Chryst first performed at the Pillow in the late 1960s, and later appeared here with Martine Van Hamel, Nederlands Dans Theater III, David Parsons, and others.
