Ballet Boyz was founded in 2000 and originally known as George Piper Dances. It is the brainchild of two former Royal Ballet dancers, Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt, both of whom trained in the Royal Ballet School and joined the company in 1987. They are known for creating witty and innovative videos which are used in their company’s performances and aired widely on television. They have worked extensively with Christopher Wheeldon, appearing as guest artists with Morphoses and creating the film segments seen in the company’s initial performances. The repertory of Ballet Boyz has included work by Russell Maliphant, Matthew Bourne, Michael Clark, and Akram Khan. In 2012, Nunn and Trevitt starred in a television reality series, A Chance to Dance, partially filmed at Jacob’s Pillow.
