Israeli-born Hofesh Shechter joined the Batsheva Dance Company after graduating from the Jerusalem Academy for Dance and Music. He began drum and percussion studies while with Batsheva, experimenting with his own music and at the same time participating in various dance projects. After moving to the United Kingdom in 2002 and joining the Jasmin Vardimon Dance Company, he soon began creating his own dance works. Shechter formed his Brighton-based company in 2008 and he also continues to work independently with other dance and theater companies. He is an Associate Artist of Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, while his troupe is the Resident Company at Brighton Dome.
